The Institute of Martial Arts and Sciences is a new concept in martial arts, we are striving toward a more Professional and Academic future for our art form. 

 

A Professional and Recognised Institute, the IMAS was formed by a group of high ranking martial arts instructors, educators, researchers and academics.   Together they make up our Faculty. 

 

All founders of the Institute, and all of our members are working towards a set of common goals and objectives, known as our Mission Statement.

3. Afford Martial Artists the opportunity of obtaining recognised and accredited qualifications.
4.  To act as a platform to encourage academic debate.

 There are a great deal of different martial arts and sciences, many of which possess their own particular set of philosophies and traditions as well as techniques.  The institute seeks to unite all of these schools and styles under the banner of mutual trust, respect and cooperation, encouraging the exchange of different ideas and opinions towards the advancement of existing knowledge.  With members spanning the Globe, The Institute of Martial Arts and Sciences encompasses a wealth of experience and knowledge and represents the full diversity and range of Martial Artists.  
Professional Membership
The Institute offers Professional Membership at various levels for all martial artists of all abilities and from all styles.  Membership starts at Associate level, which is available to students of the Martial Arts at any level, or academic students of a related discipline. The most senior level of membership available is fellowship of the Institute.  Further information on joining us can be found in the relevant section of our web site.


Training and Qualifications
The Institute also offers a variety of training courses and academic qualifications aimed specifically at Martial Artists.  These course cover a range of disciplines from Health and Safety, Child Protection to  Instructor Training.  Courses can range from 1 day intensive taught courses and training, right through to Degree Level.  The Founders and Faculty have worked hard to be in the position we are in today, all of our courses are officially accredited and recognised - undertake training with us and it really does count!
